Can I really start for free?
Yes. Free includes one personal project of up to 10,000 words, an editor, outline, characters, locations, export and 3 MUSA tokens per month. Studio unlocks collaboration and analysis. No card required. After your first saved text, you can try Studio for 7 days with 15 tokens in total.
When is a token used?
A message to MUSA or a quick-edit request, including corrections to a selection, costs 1 token. Applying the suggestion does not cost another token. For editorial analyses, you see and confirm the estimate first. An incomplete generation refunds the reserved tokens.
Do tokens expire?
Included tokens renew at the scheduled interval and do not roll over. Top-ups are one-off purchases with no expiry. Your balance uses included tokens first, then purchased tokens. You can top up in the Plan and purchases section of your account.
What’s the difference between analysis and memory?
Analysis reads your chosen text and returns a report on structure, characters, timeline and voice: up to 30,000 words with Studio and 100,000 with MUSA. The token cost is shown before starting. Memory, available with the MUSA plan, stores facts and references the assistant can retrieve in conversations. Enabling or updating it uses no tokens within your plan’s quotas.
What does MUSA memory add?
MUSA finds relevant excerpts from your work beyond the current chapter. Enable memory in your project and check its status: up to 3 works, 300,000 words in total and 600,000 words read or updated per period. You can verify facts and open sources. Responses are not a complete rereading of your work: choose Analysis for that.
Do my collaborators need a subscription?
No. Invited members work with the owner’s permissions and features. AI requests use the owner’s balance. Each plan lists the co-author and reader limits per project.
What happens if I return to Free?
Choose one project to keep editing. Above 10,000 words, you can revise or shorten the text, but you need Studio to add more. Other projects remain readable and exportable. Version retention follows your plan: 7 days on Free, 90 on Studio and 365 on MUSA. Purchased tokens remain available; they do not unlock collaboration, analysis or memory from a higher plan.
